Would you like to gain some sailing skills on a smaller boat where you have more control and need to be more self reliant? Too young to be part of a Keelboat crew? Or are you looking to sail a boat where you can push your own limits? Then a Dinghy sailing course is right for you! We offer courses for children and adults, see below for more details...

The perfect combination of practical and theory lessons – we prefer you to be out on the water with a bare minimum in the classroom
The chance to learn self reliance and independence whilst having fun
A recognised course, giving you a Nationally recognised Australian Sailing qualification and a useful starting point in your sailing adventures
Available for all ages, different courses are designed to engage and involve different age levels.
Little Tackers (4 to 6 years old)
The Little Tackers Introduction to sailing is open to children aged from 4 to 6 years old.
Each one hour session involves games on the beach and playing in our Tackers Optimist boats both on the beach and in the water.
These sessions are an introduction to the Tackers program which is open for children aged from 7 to 12 years of age.
All equipment is provided and the students will be looked after by our qualified instructors.
The cost is $40 per one hour session, please see below for scheduled courses.
Please note that Little Tackers courses are only scheduled during the December/January school holidays.
Tackers (7 to 12 years old)
This activity based sailing program introduces children to the sport whilst keeping “fun” at the forefront. It is designed for younger children and features games and colour to get the message across. The Tackers program features three levels:
Tackers 1 – Having Fun
Tackers 2 – Tricks and Techniques
Tackers 3 – Sailing Fast

Parents please note; In order to provide the safest environment and maximise skill development for all of our Tackers, the coaches will allocate partners to suit the daily sailing conditions. Therefore your child may not necessarily sail in the same boat as their friend or sibling.
Small Boat Sailing (for teens and adults)
This course takes students through Start Sailing 1 and 2 of the Dinghy sailing scheme. The course is an introduction to sailing dinghies for beginners and provides the students with the skills and safety knowledge to feel comfortable sailing with minimal assistance in light winds and enclosed waters.
