Wanting to get out on the water in charge of a powerboat?

 In Western Australia it is now a requirement to hold a Recreational Skippers Ticket to be in charge of a powerboat. This qualification is based on a set of marine safety competencies that must be demonstrated to an authorised assessor. Royal Perth Yacht Club can assist with this process by providing help and arranging an assessment.

Why should you do this course?

The RST courses are


Situated on the picturesque banks of the Swan River and located only five minutes by car from Perth’s Central Business District, RPYC’s Training Centre is located in Perth’s most protected waters - Matilda Bay. Boating conditions surrounding Matilda Bay are considered to be some of the best in the world.


Subject to demand, these courses can also be run at any time. Typically held on a Saturday, the course usually lasts for 1 session from 8.20am - 1.30pm. The structure for the day will be as follows;
