The Club conducts various events for the Power Yacht owner.
These include Cruising in Company, fishing competitions, and social events. There are also many informal activities that are organised by members where people hold similar interests. An example of this is the sharing of moorings at Rottnest Island. This is done inline with the RIA regulations and mooring sharing is encouraged between members to promote ease of access to the Island and boating with friends.
The Club has held several very successful Cruising in Company events over the past year, the first to Mandurah and the second to Mindaire. Commencing from the Fremantle Annex on a Friday night, the trips have included vessels varying from 6 - 20 metres. Along the way the crew of each vessel have participated in a Boat Rally with questions designed not only to test their navigation and saftely skills but also a few brain teasers thrown in for good measure. Saturday afternoon and evening includes fellowship, excursions and dinner and dancing at a restaurant near to the Host marina. All members are encouraged to fly the Club Burgee when aboard the boats. This makes us easily identifiable to other members and is a great catalyst to introductions between members, particularly when away from the club at Rottnest Island, Mandurah etc. Power yacht owners are also encouraged to participate in other club events such as twilight sailing on a Thursday evening and the great selection of social events held by the club. Royal Perth Yacht Club have formed a strong allegiance with Perth Game Fishing Club. Please visit www.pgfc.com.au to have a look at their coming activities. |
